Speaking of amazing, check this out:
Jill won tickets to Sesame Street Live: Elmo's Healthy Heroes by entering a coloring contest at the museum. She chose to take G. as her guest. They had a great time, and Jill just LOVED the show. I will definitely be taking her back again next year!
On a rare sunshiny afternoon we enjoyed a picnic lunch outside on her tiny picnic table. Note: it's not made for adults to sit comfortably for as long as it takes Jill to finish her lunch. I'll remember that next time.
Jill and I paid a visit to Dee and Pop's house 2 weekends ago.
Mary Poppins month at the museum culminated in Mary Poppins Day, upon which the child stars of the show came to the museum to show us how to do the Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious dance. Needless to say, someone was beside herself with excitement.
It shouldn't be a surprise that my little ham was one of the first to volunteer to go up on stage with the kids. Ballet starts in September!
All of that planting at the museum helped because that weekend we planted our own little garden. Jill is a master gardener!
*She made the crown on the pbs kids site, by spelling words. She's a champion speller and is well on her way to being a fabulous reader too. She has read several words, but still struggles at times with putting the individual sounds together to make a word. It will come, though!
Here is a video from our daily "school time." We go all out, she has a desk, a name tag, the works. She even raises her hand when she has a question!
Jill, telling me how she got to be so big:
She ADORES playing baseball. I can't wait until she can play on a team next year!
On a sad note, our beloved librarian, Ms. Sandra is retiring at the end of June. This was Jill on the last day of story time in May, before the month long break. Ms. Sandra will be back for one last story time on June 27th. We will miss her terribly!
