Fourteen Fabulous Months

On Friday Jill celebrated her 14 month birthday on her Daddy's birthday. I made chicken pot pie for Steve, and Jill LOVES it. She's been having it for lunch almost everyday since then. On Saturday we took her to Woodland Park Zoo for the Firefighter Family Picnic, and she had a blast. We sure love our Bean!

The Past Couple of Weeks

We've been up to quite a bit, and here is the evidence.

First, Jill went to dinner with Great Grandma and Aunt Millie, who was visiting from Fresno.

Then, Jill wore her helmet ("ha") around the house while she did various things like eat toast, push her stroller, and drink milk.

After that, she made some of the messiest mess we've ever seen while eating dinner.  She also played with her new favorite toy (a Starbucks straw), and had a good game of peekaboo.

Anyone want a bite?  It's peanut butter and jelly...

Then she did one of the funniest things I've ever heard:

The next morning she showed off her walking skills and demonstrated a new word, "Oops!"

Next, Jill and I walked to our neighborhood park for snack time.

The next day we visited Steve at work.

That weekend we went to Olympia to look at 2 houses, and Jill had a messy snack (another cereal bar) and demonstrated her "ooh" skills a second time.  Upon getting home she showed off some of the animal sounds that she knows.

On Monday we took her to Nordstrom for her first "real" (non-Robeez) pair of shoes.  She thinks the shoes and balloon are equally tasty, but likes the balloon best of all.  It was really funny to watch her walk in the shoes because she picks her feet up high and falls a lot.  We are practicing everyday.

She popped the balloon from Nordstrom, so we gave her another one.  Anyone care to guess how she popped it?

Finally, she has taken to eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast, but only in the big bowl, with the big spoon, like Daddy.  I gave her a Jill sized bowl and a Jill sized spoon, and though it looks like she's using them correctly here, she really dumped the cereal on the tray and put the bowl on her head, then used it as a drum with the spoon as her drumstick.  Creative but not correct, technically.

Point Defiance Zoo

Jill had her first zoo outing on Monday, to Pt. Defiance in Tacoma. We're going to Woodland Park on the 29th for the Fire Department picnic, so we thought we'd start off with a little smaller zoo. She had a great time...see for yourself.

WALKING!!--Our 100th Post

On Saturday Steve had gone out to pick up dinner and Jill and I were home. I left her sitting on the floor in front of the pantry while I turned my back to turn on the stove. In the 5 seconds it took for me to do that, she had gotten to her feet and walked from the pantry to the kitchen! She's been doing it more and more, but only for short (really short) distances, and only when she feels like it, but it's official...she can walk!

Brilliant Baby...and Fun with a Straw

Here is my proof that Jill is a baby genius, as I've always said. Also, you can see her playing with her new favorite toy: a straw.

Coming Home

Everyday when Steve gets home from work, Jill and I go out and meet him in the driveway. She gets REALLY excited when she sees the car coming up the drive.

 It's SO cute...here you go!

Fun Weekend

We took Jill down to Grammi and Grandpa's in Olympia for a barbeque on Sunday, and before we got there we stopped at the Cider Mill to get some fresh apple fritters. It was a very fun day.
