Twelve Months

We just returned from Jill's 12 month doctor appointment.  She weighs in at 22 lbs. 15.5 oz. (80th percentile), is 29.5 inches long (65th percentile) and has an 18.66 inch head (96th percentile).  Dr. K pronounced her to be in "great shape" and noted that she must love her beta carotene loaded yellow veggies because she has a slightly yellow tinge to her skin.  Oh how that made us laugh!  We're going to continue working on loving whole milk (she's not a fan now) and eating meat that isn't in baby food.  She's super healthy and handled the shots well too.

What Jill can do now:
*say MumMum, Dada, Duh (doggie), Dah (her all purpose word), Ca (cow), uh oh, Nah (no), nanana (night-night)
*CRAWL! She really crawls now, and it's so cute.
*pull herself up to stand on anything, and she'll stand alone for a few seconds
*walk behind her new stroller or holding onto our hands
*sleep all night (thank Heaven for this, even though it took a year, it's wonderful)
*ride in the car without crying as long as I am sitting next to her
*pick out her own books (she's picky) and bring them to me, then whine to get me to read them to her
*she will say, "buh" when I ask her to say "up," but it's not consistent
*she also says, "yeah!" or "yup" a lot, but I don't think she knows what they mean
*she picked out a watermelon in the store today by yelling and pointing at it

Here are a couple more videos from the last month.

Birthday for a Bean

We had a great first birthday today! We drove to Olympia to check out a couple of potential new houses, then we met up with Grammi and Grandpa at Lattin's Country Cider Mill to eat some apple fritters and to see the animals. We had a great time. Both Steve and Grammi were knocked down by goats as kids, and Grammi is still a little nervous about them. She had her food bag stolen and eaten by one of the goats, though Steve did manage to get half of it away from him. Poor old goat! Jill LOVED the animals and seeing the grandparents, but she loved the fritters most of all. We can't wait to take her back there soon. In other news, Grandpa's last radiation treatment is tomorrow, as is Jill's 12 month doctor visit, so we'll post new pics and stats about month 12 tomorrow! Enjoy the pictures and video from our birthday day. It was one that will never be forgotten (and not just because we filled 2 cameras with pictures and video either).

The birthday spread set up last night

The clock at 3:12 am, the time of Jill's birth.  I don't know why Steve and I were awake because Jill was not, but it was fun to be up and take a picture to prove we were awake.

Birthday Party!

We had Jill's birthday party on Saturday and we all had a great time.  Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us!  I uploaded the pictures in random order, and there are a lot of them, so enjoy!

We let all of the kids at the party open the gifts

Jill opened some too

She really wanted down to explore the gifts
