Ten Terrific Months

Jill is 10 months old today, and last night she wowed us with a new skill: pulling up to a kneeling or standing position.  She'd been pulling up on us for a while, but suddenly last night she decided it was time to use the couch, her tables, and anything else she could reach.  As we were putting her to be last night, Steve asked me how long I thought it would be before we found her standing in her crib, and I told him, "Tonight, tomorrow...soon!"  I was in the shower half an hour later and he came in to tell me, "It happened.  She was crying and when I went in there she was kneeling, looking at me over the crib rail."  Walking can't be far off now!

She weighs 22.5 pounds these days, and is rapidly outgrowing her 12 month clothing.  On to the 18 month size!

Also worth mentioning is the fact that she is finally getting teeth!  Her two bottom ones have broken through the gums and are visible now when she shows them to us (which is not often).  I was beginning to think they would never come in, but here they are!  As soon as I can get a picture of them I'll put it up.

I'll let the photos speak to the rest of her latest accomplishments.

that aren't meant for babies, plus read and play with toys? It's really hard!

More Park

We went back to Westcrest and Jill had another great time.  The photos look much like the ones from our previous trip, but they're too cute not to share.
Yay!
I love this thing!

We need one of these at home, Mamamum!

Out to Lunch

We met Grammy and Grandpa for lunch (Jill had pears mixed with blueberries) on Saturday, and we got some good photos of Grandpa and Jill this time.  I felt like I needed to make up for the one measly photo of the two of them at Easter in which Jill is crying.  Here you go!  Jill loves her Grandpa whose second to last chemo session is today!  We can't wait for him to be done.

The Blueberry Kid

Jill LOVES blueberries.  I repeat, Jill LOVES blueberries.  She'll take them for every meal, every snack, and in any form.  It's great, except for the clean up. She has purple spots on her tummy and arms that look like bruises, but they're really squashed blueberries that need to wear off.  Oh well, let's just hope we don't have to take her to the doctor because I'm not sure anyone would believe us...

More please!

It looks like the blueberry won this round!

Mmm
Mamamum, do you know how delicious these are?
Oops, I dropped it.
Mamamum, I need another blueberry over here!
What?  All done?  What about the BLUEBERRIES?

First Trip to the Park

We couldn't find a nearby park with swings, so we went back to West Seattle to Red's favorite place in the world; Westcrest Park.  Jill got to swing, slide, and seesaw.  She had a GREAT time!

Big Red at Westcrest...We missed you today buddy!

Happy Easter!

We went to Olympia to celebrate Easter with Michelle's family.  Here are some photos of Jill with her 2 year old cousin Isabelle, and "Grammy and Poppy" as Isabelle calls them.  I guess the benefit of being the eldest grandchild is that you get to set the grandparents' names! Isabelle did NOT want to have her picture taken, Jill was really tired by the time it was Poppy's turn to hold her, but they both had a great time.  Also, Poppy only has 2 more chemo visits left, and we're so excited for him!!!

There was a rule that all three of them could not look at the camera at the same time

Mommy's Little Helper

Please note: Having one bare foot and one stockinged foot is essential to proper laundry help. (P.S. How often does one have the chance to use the word "stockinged?")
