The Reader

Lately, if you want to spend time with Jill, you'll have to sit next to her and watch her read. She wants to read to herself, and she's quite good at it. She doesn't want to read board books either. They have to be real books. When she wants me to read to her she holds up a book and says, "Pease?" If she's reading to herself and I ask her whether she wants Mama to read the book she says, "No...no....no...no." Just in case I didn't understand the first no. It's adorable!

Also, she's been really into the show WordWorld on PBS Kids. So much so, that we play on the website everyday, she builds words out of her bathtime foam letters, and she reads things aloud ALL THE TIME. Today she read the house numbers to me. They say, "piano" in case you're wondering. :)

More Mercy Watson (do you see a theme?)

Reading at Story Time while the other kids are listening to the lady. Jill got up, left the group, got a book and parked herself on the floor to read it. Gotta love a little girl who knows what she wants!
