So, Jill is amazing! She knows the alphabet and its sounds, and she can demonstrate her knowledge here, playing games on the Super Why website. I don't know what I'm going to do with this girl when she gets to be school age...but at least I have a few more years to worry about that!

23 Months

Wow, only a month away from her second birthday! She is at such a great age right now, honestly we could keep her this way forever. Steve told her just the other day, "Jill, you've reached maximum cuteness. You should just stop growing now!"

Recent Favorite Sayings:

• Mama WEED NOW! ("Mama read now." *I won't do it until she asks nicely.)
• Hi Daddy Daddy (She's all about repeating Daddy for some reason)
• Watch Supa Why (Super Why is our newest obsession)
• Need buhp baby, Mama (Need to burp the baby, Mama--then she proceeds to pat her baby and make a really loud burping sound. I HAVE to get it on video.)
• Oh NO, tv not wohking! (She pushes the buttons on the remote, her carseat, her piano...anything and then announces that the tv is not working. It's pretty funny.)
• Oh NO, Doda, Deeming-o, Baby Payjet stuck appah tree. Need yaddah! (Oh no, Dora, Diego, and Baby Parrot are stuck in the apple tree. They need a ladder!--This is yelled randomly ALL DAY LONG)
• Go tow-way stow-ah, Mama ( go to the toy store, Mama)

She's OBSESSED with the PBS show Super Why right now, and it's so great! I love to watch it too, and it's really helped her with the 7 alphabet letters she didn't know. There are only 3 that give her trouble consistently now, which is wonderful! We play the games on their website too and she's getting really good with her sounds as well. This may backfire on me when she's reading and I'm trying to spell things to Steve. Just the other day I spelled "zoo" and she yelled, "Go Zoo, Mama!" I guess we'll have to learn a new language! She no longer watches Dora, Diego, Mickey...none of her old favorites. It's all Super Why all the time right now, which is fine by me. Oh, and to mix it up we throw a little WordWorld in there too.

She is also in love with pushing her own child sized cart at Petco while shopping with Daddy and visiting the kitties for adoption there. (We're all about fun indoor activities right now in the middle of these weeks of nonstop rain.) I took her to a local toy store the other day since this is our week off from tumbling, and we're at the beginning of a MONTH off from Story Time. She's missing it a lot already, and keeps singing the songs. We've been back to get books and she looks longingly at the room and says, "Stow-ee time in dere." Poor Bean! Anyway, back to the toy store...she filled a cart with plastic and wooden fruit, played with some animals hiding in the fruit, and then told me, "Mama put way, Jill doweet again." So, I put the fruit back and she did indeed fill the cart again. It was a great way to spend a rainy morning.

We are spending our days reading, singing, playing, laughing,...it's just the most fun right now. Life is great!

Mother's Day

We had a great Mother's Day. Jill enjoyed her first Belgian waffle. She had hers with blueberries and whipped cream. Yummy! After waffles we played and then went to dinner in Puyallup with the family in the evening. She got to see Dee, Pop, E-belle, E-jeesha, Dreat Dranma, and Ben and Sean. I didn't take many pictures, but we did get some cute ones at the playground the day before!

22 Months

This month has been amazing. These past few months before Jill's second birthday have been my favorite so far. She is just so cute and funny! The things she says amaze me.

Some new ones:

• When it takes us a while to understand something she's saying she says loudly (after we've asked a few times), "Oh, (insert word or phrase), WIGHT!" like we're totally stupid. It's SO funny!
• "Ah ded et, Dad-dee!" (I'll get it, Daddy)
• "Holp! Dee-ming-o, ah coming!" (Help! Diego, I'm coming!)
• "Watch Doe-dah now!" (Watch Dora now!)
• "Eat hummus NOW!"
• "I yike food!"
• "Go-licious hummus!"
• "See min-ut you!" (see you in a minute)
• "Be wight back" (when she wants to do something not on the agenda)

She's fallen in love with Dora the Explorer (in fact I think we're hosting a Dora birthday party) and to a lesser degree with Go Diego, Go. We have to watch them and play with them a lot. She had been making her Sesame Street characters pretend to be Dora and Diego until I took pity on her today and bought her one of each. Now she is SO happy!

We have been spending a lot of time in West Seattle these past few weekends, taking her to see the cats for adoption at Next to Nature (where we used to buy Red's food), playing at Curious Kidstuff (and spending a small fortune on toys), and getting Pagliacci pizza to take home. She told me today that we should "go Wes' See-a-le" today after her nap. It's been a great way to spend our Saturdays.

Her imagination has really taken off this month and I love listening to her play. I have to do it sneakily because if she sees me she ropes me in and says, "Mama do-weet," and then she won't do anything on her own. She has also been liking to share tv with us. When I'm driving and she's watching a movie she yells, "Yook, Mama! Watch!" I try to explain that I can't watch while I'm driving, but that doesn't stop her.

She's also a super singer, as you'll see in the videos. We had a great April, and we're in full birthday planning mode. Stay tuned for more on that, and enjoy the photos and videos!
