21 Months

March will forever be the month I remember as the one when Jill first started to grow up. This month has been amazing both for its gifts and challenges. We have been dealing with 6 new teeth coming in, and that's been hard on everyone, Jill most of all. She's also had a bad cold, a stomach bug that followed just one day after the cold was over, and an eczema outbreak. Enough about the bad things, however! Just this month, Jill has started to speak in sentences, assert her will, claim her independence, and act like a 2 year old! She told me today, "Jill do it by 'self." She thinks that saying, "okay" before and after what she wants will magically make it happen. For example, "otay, hot tea, otay, otay" in her mind means that she will get ice cream. At 6:30 am. Just because she wants it. I tried it with Steve: "Otay, Audi SUV Steve, otay, otay." I'm still waiting...

Other things she's been saying include:
  • "Jill doweet" (Jill do it)
  • "Mama doweet" (Mama do it)
  • "Dada doweet" (Dada do it)
  • others who "doweet" include Dee, Pop, Wotwee, the Sesame Street gang, and Henny
  • "fewst" (she says what she wants to do first)
  • "NOW!"
  • "watch Bewt Ewnie TB, otay Mama, otay" (Watch Bert and Ernie on TV, okay Mama, okay)
  • tahbow (computer)
  • "mo Ajah moomie, Mama" (more Alice movie, Mama)
  • PAY (she knows we have to pay for things at stores)
  • Mama sing puhpuh pane song, pease (Mama sing Purple Plane song, please--or any other song)
  • "Good Wook" (she tells us "good work, mama or dada" ALL THE TIME when we get things or fix things for her)
  • "Jill EAT oatmoe" (Jill eat oatmeal--or anything else she wants)
  • "Call Dee Phoe, Mama" (Call Grammi on the phone--or Dada, Pop, Rocky, Grandpa Mike, Grandpa Milt, or Henny)
  • "Pawpaw MITE" (Grandpa Mike)
  • "Pawpaw NUCK" (Grandpa Milt)
  • "Raw Cootie (rhymes with cookie)"--(Ring Around the Rosie)
  • "Ning-G0"--(BINGO, the song)
  • "Hawk-uh"--(Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)
  • "Shish"--(fish)
Things she LOVES at 21 months:
  • Alice in Wonderland (she calls Alice "Ajah" and LOVES the White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat)
  • ice cream
  • tea parties in her kitchen
  • shortbread Girl Scout cookies she calls them "boo cappa" (blue crackers)
  • YouTube and all its awesomeness
  • Bert and Ernie
  • MAMA--we're in a clingy phase right now
  • tumbling, each week more than ever
  • Story Time
  • Going to Petco to see the kitties and turtles and walk like big girl
  • the zoo
  • calling Dada, Dee, and Pop on the phone
All in all, she is a brilliant, funny, adorable, loving and lovable little girl, and I'm so lucky she's mine! Enjoy her in the pictures and videos below...I know she does, and so do I!

Because I Think My Kid Is So Stinkin' Cute...

enjoy the videos below.

This one needs a little intro...Steve had just finished giving Jill a bath while I did the dishes. He called down to me to hurry up and bring the camera. This is what I found. I know it sounds like Jill is spewing profanity, but really, she's just saying "frog." I promise!

Mama's Girl

This has always been one of Jill's favorite places, and mine too. Love.

Isabelle's Birthday

Our sweet niece Isabelle turns 3 today, and we went to her birthday party on Saturday. We had a great time, and Jill got to meet some cousins for the first time too! The highlights for Jill were getting to play with pizza dough and seeing Dee and Pop. She loves any chance she gets to see them! They read to her, talked to her, played with her...good thing the birthday girl is so good at sharing the grandparents!

Happy Birthday Isabelle Grace! We love you!
